Dear Avonlea,
You have started to will use your little tooth to scrap off pieces of food and this has made you willing to try new things. Right now you love apples, yogurt drops, bread, puffs and anything Mommy or Daddy are eating. We have also given you teething biscuits (not be confused with doggy biscuits) that you will carry around in your mouth as you crawl. This makes you seem like a puppy which goes hand in hand with the way you beg for Daddy's dinner each night (we don't usually share because we don't think curry would be good your little baby belly).
Even though you are small you think that you are the boss. When Rhett is minding his own business you will come up behind him and tackle him to the ground. Because he is bigger than you he doesn't go down easily but that just means that you will hang onto the back of him until he gives up. He doesn't fuss but even if he did I'm sure you would still pounce him whenever he had something you wanted. Soon you will realize that he is much bigger than you and he may decide to tackle you back.
You are so interested in the world around you and we love when you examine new things. Sometimes I think I can see the wheels turning in your head as you study things. We love our little scientist.

Dear Rhett,
You have been cruising on furniture for a while but this month you have started to take some steps on your own. Usually it was just a step or two to get from the table to the couch but one night you took 4 steps to Daddy. You get really excited and try to go quickly which results in you falling but you never let that keep you down. Right now your main motivation to walk is to get to our cell phones (which Daddy refuses to let you play with because A) they are super germy and B) he knows that you will magically unlock it and end up calling 911)
One of our favorite things you are doing right now is dancing. If one of our phones ring or if a jingle on a commercial comes on you will start to bounce along. In fact, if we look at you and start singing a little song you will start to dance on command. You will look at us with a huge smile on your face and bust out some sweet baby moves (your signature move is the head shake but my personal favorite is the booty dance). Mommy has no sense of rhythm so you must have gotten your natural moves from Daddy (which will come in handy when you get the ladies...hopefully that won't be for 20 years).
You are still our adventuress little boy and are always willing to meet new people. Your sister is now very clingy to Mommy but she is quickly reassured when you go up and check out the new people. You then give the secret "all clear" signal and she will timidly join to play with our visitors too. You are definitely your big "little" sister's protector and it is cute to see you continue to be our gentle giant.
Daddy talks about how cool it is to see your personality this young and he bets that you will be one of the nice kids in school. I hope that he is right and that you will always stick up for what is right.
