Southern Cotton

It is that time of year when the ground is covered with white...no not snow but COTTON!!  Who would have thought that all of these "empty" fields filled with weeds would start to grow these small whimsical puff balls.
If I had seen this as a child  I could have completely been convinced that cotton candy grew out of the ground...although...I haven't tried eating any of this so called "cotton" so maybe it is cotton candy.
My whole life has been a lie.
