Tornado Warning

Don't panic we are indeed alive!  Clay and I have lived through our first tornado warning yesterday.

We were in church and asked to give the opening/closing prayer.  As the congregation started to sing the song the organist stopped and a women went up to talk to the bishop.  I was super confused and it wasn't until Clay had said the prayer that the bishop announced that there is a tornado warning but we should continue with church.  In the next meeting we could hear the winds and the rain beating on the building.  Looking out the window was crazy and it was like someone was dumping buckets of water over everything.  During the last meeting we heard the tornado sirens go off again and we got word that the tornado did touch down near us and that if we felt more comfortable we could move away from the windows.

When church ended we all stood in the church and just waited for the wind and rain to calm down.  We started getting information about the storm and there was another touch down on base and the neighborhood base pools were overflowing.  They also issued a flash flood warning and many ward members had their back yards turned into swimming pools.

Our backyard was spared but we faced our own problems because our new puppy is scared of the rain and we had to get her to use the bathroom outside.  Oh the joy of being puppy parents.
