This year we went with the kids to pick out their own pumpkins from a local farm on the side of the road. We went with our friends and the kids went to town exploring all the different gourds. They would each take turns picking up gourds from one price section and mixing them into others (don't worry us Mamas fixed as many as we saw). Rhett particularly liked to lick the dirt off of the gourds..which I wasn't a fan...he soon found the produce section and took a huge bite out of an apple so we bought that too.
The farmers were so kind and they let the kids each pick out a small pumpkin for free...and their pumpkins were already pretty cheap. We definitely found our spot for a pumpkin picking tradition.
