Towers and Pokemon (Day #3)

Today we headed to Tokyo Tower. It is a radio tower and tourist attraction. There were tons of people and was super fun to go up and see above the whole city. It is interesting to see how every space around was being used. On the top of many roofs were gardens and even soccer fields. I got my first souvenir there (check out my new socks!).

After that we stopped by a near by temple. The temple was being prepared for the New Year celebration that was about to take place the next night. There was a shrine by the temple with small baby statues. These statues were built so that a guardian will help lead still born children to enlightenment. Also there was a large bell you could ring for good luck.

After we stopped at the temple we continued to walk. Clay and I had no idea where we were going and didn't ask because we have learned to follow blindly. When Shelby announced we were at our location I realized we were at the Tokyo Pokemon Center. It was the best thing ever!! The music playing inside was the music you hear from the poke center in the game and it was filled with people. The store had everything and I had a hard time figuring where to start. When I got a few things we headed outside only to see all of these people sitting with their DS out playing Pokemon. (This really brought out the inner nerd in me....poor Clay)

With the Pokemon surprise stop over we headed to a beautiful light show. It was dancing lights set to music but it was much better than the regular house shows that people put up. It was very beautiful. We headed inside after the show and ate some great food (Clay's favorite part now that he can eat again).

It was such a fun day of surprises and lots of walking!
